My Journey
Solidifying my Faith Through an In-depth Study of the Bible.
By Cecil Whitaker

This journal will explore a variety of themes that I am studying in the Bible, each one chosen because it challenges me, grows my understanding, or strengthens my faith. My goal is to approach Scripture with honesty and curiosity, seeking answers to my own questions while defining clear guiding principles grounded in the Word of God. The King James Version of the Bible will be cited and used as a reference in each article.
As I share what I learn, I want this site to be a place where others can test my work, offer insights, and grow alongside me. Your comments, questions, and encouragement help shape this journey, and I’m grateful for the grace you extend as I continue improving both my writing and the website itself.
As I begin this journey, I am reminded of Christ’s command to all believers — the Great Commission. Jesus calls us not only to grow in our own understanding, but to share His truth with others: “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations…” (Matthew 28:19, KJV).
This journal is one way I hope to live out that calling — by studying Scripture diligently, learning with humility, and sharing what I discover so that others may grow in their walk with Christ.
As I continue this journey, I plan to seek guidance from believers who have studied Scripture deeply and faithfully, drawing on their experience to help keep my work grounded in biblical truth. Their guidance and prayers will help ensure that every article is supported by Scripture and written with clarity and care. "In the multitude of counsellors there is safety." Proverbs 11:14 (KJK)
I also hope to gain insights from their study and wisdom, and I look forward to sharing those insights with my readers as we grow together in understanding God’s Word.
To make this journal easier to navigate, the website is organized into several categories, each representing a major theme in my study of the Bible. These categories — My Journey, Roman Road, The Plan, Statistics, and Angels — reflect areas I have recently explored or studied more deeply to strengthen my faith.
I chose these categories because each one highlights a different aspect of Christian faith and biblical truth, allowing readers to follow the topics that interest them most while still seeing how all Scripture works together in unity.
The “My Journey” category will chronicle the development of this website and the lessons I learn as I write each article, including insights gained from feedback and comments shared by readers. As I grow in faith and understanding, I hope this section reflects the path God is leading me on.
“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” — Proverbs 3:5–6 (KJV)
The “Roman Road” category provides a series of articles describing the foundational truths of the Christian faith. The first article introduces a short list of verses that can be memorized and used to lead someone to salvation.
Subsequent articles will expand on each verse, exploring supporting passages throughout Scripture to provide deeper insight and context.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23 (KJV)
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23 (KJV)
“If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Romans 10:9 (KJV)
“The Plan” category will show how God’s plan of salvation is revealed throughout the Old Testament and fulfilled in the New Testament. This recurring theme appears across numerous books written by multiple authors, forming a unified testimony found nowhere else in history. By studying these connections, I hope this series strengthens the foundation of both new and mature believers alike.
“And I will put enmity between thee and the woman… it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” — Genesis 3:15 (KJV)
“But he was wounded for our transgressions… and with his stripes we are healed.” — Isaiah 53:5 (KJV)
“And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.” — Luke 24:27 (KJV)
In the “Statistics” series, I plan to review Science Speaks by Peter W. Stoner, examining the mathematical probabilities behind biblical prophecy. I will update and test some of the statistics presented in the book, applying my experience as a data scientist to evaluate the odds of certain events and prophecies concerning the Messiah, Jesus Christ. Over time, I will search for additional prophecies to test, working through the math to provide evidence and context for their fulfillment.
“Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure.” Isaiah 46:10 (KJV)
“We have also a more sure word of prophecy… holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” 2 Peter 1:19–21 (KJV)
The “Angels” series will explore the role of angels in the Bible and how they relate to personal experiences and the world today. I am researching biblical accounts to better understand what angels are, how they interact with people, and how their presence is revealed throughout Scripture.
Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?” Hebrews 1:14 (KJV)
“For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.” Psalm 91:11 (KJV)
I hope this work will help others on a similar journey to grow in their faith. My prayer is that each article is written with clarity and guided by the Holy Spirit, so that my words never confuse or cause anyone to stumble from the narrow path toward salvation.
“Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.” Psalm 119:133 (KJV)
